Speaker 1 00:00:03 Kia Ora and welcome to the whole tooth Ao/NZ a platform for oral health professionals by oral health professionals, where we will share the kaupapa of the oral health profession in Aotearoa. We will seek to speak the tooth, the whole tooth and nothing but the truth. Well, Kia Ora and welcome to episode one, just the two of us, where my colleague and friend Diane Pevreal and I get together and have a good kōrero about what's going on for us. Speaker 2 00:00:32 Kia Ora koutou, I'm Diane Pevreal. My background is in dental therapy practice and DHB based oral health service management. I'm presently co-owner of an oral health clinic in Cambridge. That's designed for quality oral healthcare for adults and for oral healthcare for children and adolescents. In addition of being doing consultancy to help build systems or resolve problems associated with oral healthcare with Rebecca Ahmadi & associates, we are keen to expand this beyond systems and into helping people not only grow and advocate within the profession, but also expand their boundaries, achieving DC NZ requirements and building the profession. Ad 00:01:13 The whole tooth Ao/ NZ is yet to be sponsored by any cutting edge dental company or organization. This could be the opportunity for you phone us on 021 0355456. Speaker 2 00:01:29 And very exciting, um, Rebecca, to be part of Rebecca Ahmadi& Associates, which started as, several meetings together to discuss what we could do, how we could do things, because we were passionate about shifting the profession forward. Speaker 1 00:01:47 Both of us left the DHB around the same time, and then there was the COVID lockdown. So we had some time to think, and time to talk, and time to see how we could both use our passions experience and expertise for the better of the profession and in another way, shape or form improve oral health, to bring that together in a business that will provide, oral health professionals with options and opportunities for empowerment, for growth, and for, increasing autonomy Speaker 2 00:02:19 And all relating to the Aotearoa/New Zealand context. Speaker 1 00:02:21 Definitely. I think that's something that as we've done two years of market research on this, on creating this business, a business that will meet the needs of the oral health profession educationally. And, also through our experiences of the past that we have walked alongside many oral health professionals and we are oral health professionals. So, you know, we, we know what's going on out there and we care . Speaker 2 00:02:50 And we've developed a plan of what we can provide and, developing our space in the world to walk alongside people, help people and help build systems or resolve problems associated with systems going forward. Speaker 1 00:03:05 Yeah. And we see that essentially, we could do this through, , some online learning with our subject matter experts that are busy recording, amazing webinars as we speak. Uh, we've got our website launch coming up soon. We've recorded a few podcasts and, um, yeah, we do have a plan. It's been a long time coming, but it, it is here and we can't wait to show you the things that we have to offer as we believe that they're going to make significant changes for you as an oral health professional, not only individually, but also as a collective. Speaker 2 00:03:40 We are very appreciative. The contracts we've had to date were to do some work for our association. Speaker 1 00:03:47 Yes. And shout out to the NZOHA , they have been nothing but supportive towards us. Speaker 2 00:04:09 The quality triangle is really important one and that's, got time cost and quality understanding those three, items, how they come together. And, um, certainly the triangle's quite applicable to other areas as well. So we'll often relate to the quality triangle. Speaker 1 00:04:31 Yes, that was one thing that Diane and I are. One of our key values is quality when we are providing not only education, but also quality and our clinical skills and our clinical knowledge and our evidence based dentistry. Speaker 2 00:04:46 And money is always a consideration for everyone. And, that relates to quality . Speaker 1 00:04:52 That's right. Cause we, as we we've been talking about this business and what we could potentially bring to, the consumers, that's you oral health professionals out there in your clinics, uh, what we could bring you would be accessible online. It would be affordable. It would be within your budget and, it would be appropriate. It would be within the things you need within your professional development plan modules to work through that's clinically relevant. You can plan ahead for next year for your professional development plan and really be able to, um, succeed. Speaker 2 00:05:24 Our baseline is understanding DCNZ, standards and competencies and requirements associated with those. And being able to present that in an easy format to understand, thanks for listening. And we can't wait to, catch up with you again. Speaker 1 00:05:44 Kia ora and thank you for listening to us on the whole tooth NZ. So watch this space. We'll be back next week with Helen Tāne. She's going to share with us her wisdom and knowledge on oral health. Well, my oral health, professional colleagues and peers from us at the whole tooth, Ao/NZ, Noho Ora mai.
